Puppies

Are you welcoming a new member to your family fairly soon?

Congratulations!

If your new puppy is going to need regular professional grooming you need to think about getting them booked in for a puppy package. I offer a three appointment package which can be purchased and the appointments booked via my bookings page.

When do I need to book my puppy in?
I recommend you get them booked in as soon as they have completed their intial vaccinations. Don't wait until you think their coat needs cutting.

The reason we like to start early is to get dogs used to it before they become fearful of different experiences. Usually after three months of age.

Also like all dog groomers I am very busy and can get booked up months in advance. So it's best to get the appointments booked in as soon as you can.

The puppy package

I split the package into three separate 1 hour appointments booked close together. They should be completed within 1 month.

Appointment 1

This is just a bath and dry. Hopefully you will have already bathed your dog at home a few times, so they shouldn't find this too stressful

Appointment 2

For this appointment I introduce the puppy to clippers. It's up to you if you want anything actually clipped off at this stage. It does depend on how early you have booked them in for puppy grooms. I generally only use the clippers on the torso during a puppy groom.

Appointment 3

For the final appointment I do any trimming I need to do with scissors, usually the legs, head, tail and ears. I also trim their nails and clean the outer part of their ears. I don't ever put any type of cleaner down their ear canels.

At the end of the puppy grooms you have a completely groomed dog and theyve experenced everything grooming entails.

Very anxious dogs

With some dogs it maybe necessary to repeat some of the puppy grooms if they are too fearful of the process. I will advise if this is necessary.
